The 10 Commandments of Establishing Long-Term Client Relationships

There are ten fundamental commandants or laws that need to be abided by; these determine whether a client will want to have a long-term relationship with you.

They are:

  1. There is mutual respect between you and your client.
  2. Dialogue is transparent and open.
  3. Worth and expertise of both parties are recognised.
  4. Client is up to date with all information.
  5. The process is made easy for the client.
  6. Your client feels rewarding working with you.
  7. You’re interested in the client and their business.
  8. Your client feels understood.
  9. Everything both parties do is with the highest integrity.
  10. On both sides’ promises are achieved, and success is the outcome.

If you behave with these laws constantly in mind, your clients will work with you, buy from you, and give you great referrals. On the other hand, if you ignore any of these laws, you’re toast. Your clients will move on, perhaps to your competitors.
